How I Work

Life can be incredibly hard at times. We can't control or change what has happened to us, what we needed but didn't get, or how isolating and confusing things can be. Sometimes we don't understand why we feel the way we do, our reactions, or what to do next. Maybe we don't feel much at all. We don't have to keep repeating the same patterns or relating to ourselves and others in the same ways, even though that might feel impossible right now. I know reflecting on our behaviors, thought patterns, and life experiences can be incredibly difficult, and I’m here to support you through that process.

All of our relationships, especially our earliest relationships, impact our sense of safety and security and create the framework for how we feel about ourselves and the world. Often are most wonderful and painful experiences happen in relationships, and I believe that healing happens in relationships, too. When we feel safe enough to share parts of ourselves we don’t like or experiences we’ve found painful, our understanding of those parts and experiences can shift. My therapeutic framework is psychodynamic (drawing on the past to understand the present) and collaborative. I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach. I believe in meeting you where you are and bringing in different resources based on what you’re experiencing and what you find helpful, which can change over time.
